Punjab Group of Colleges (PGC) is the epitome of excellence in education in Pakistan. However, the supremacy is not limited to education and studies. Over the years, PGC is providing ample space and opportunity for students to mark their presence in the national and international arena. Stars like Atif Aslam, and Aima Baig are a few to mention.
PGC works on the ethical upbringing of its students as well. For this purpose, regular competitions are arranged. Exciting, rewarding and memorable competitions among their students let them do team work, compete, shine and rule freely. Keeping the ignition alive, the Punjab Group of Colleges (PGC) is conducting a grand, colourful, fascinating, and thrilling event comprising various contests among students to showcase their individualism and talents to the world in January 2023.
The competition is open to all. And there is no restriction whatsoever. You can become the master of your talent by highlighting it in PGC Takra! Details are available below!
PGC Takra is the biggest talent competition in the college history of Pakistan. The chance to hold a PGC TAKRA TROPHY is divided into 10 categories. The categories include sports, arts, and literature. Students are open to taking participation in the following.

- Drama
- Singing
- Badminton
- Still Photography
- Table Tennis
- Standup Comedy
- Chess
- Painting/Sketching /Calligraphy
- Ludo
All competitions are divided into two rounds. The cluster round will lead towards the Final Round. The finale shall be held in Lahore at the end of January 2023.

The singing competition shall be held between students in the First Round at the Cluster Level. For which two students will be selected as per the given rules.
Rules
- Any Pakistani Song
- Duration is 4 to 6 minutes.
- Student can use Karaoke or musical instruments.
- Only Solo singing is allowed; duets or more than one singer participation is not allowed

The competitions for sketching, painting and calligraphy shall be conducted with the First Round at the Cluster Level, where judges will select two students per the given rules.
Rules
- Canvas size is 18×18 inches
- Student will bring their all required things; canvas, tools, colors, stationery etc.
- Student have to complete his/her task within 2.5 hours.
- Still objects will be provided to draw sketches.
- Landscape, portraits, objects or topic will be provided for paintings.
- Content for calligraphy will be provided.
It is important to abide by the set of rules for the sketching/painting/ calligraphy writing competition to stay eligible to qualify for the finale round.
Students will participate in ‘Still Photography’ by appearing in the first Round at Cluster Level. Judges will select two students as per the given rules.
Rules
- Students will bring their own camera and required tools.
- Students will be sent with officials of the event to expose pics of the suggested places/objects etc.
- Every student will expose and submit five pics for the competition.
- Development/printing and travelling Expense will be borne by the College.
- Advance editing is prohibited

First Round at Cluster Level

- Copied content will be disqualified.
- Abusive language is not allowed.
- Additional marks will be given for costumes/props.
It is important to abide by the set of rules for stand-up comedy to stay eligible to qualify for the finale round.
The best team will be selected on the Cluster Level to perform, as per fulfilling the rules. However, the terms and conditions for the drama competition are mentioned below.
Rules
- Up to a group of SEVEN students/characters (Boys and Girls) can participate in the Drama (on or behind the stage).
- Abusive language is not allowed.
- A Blend of Pakistani languages can be used.
- Disrespectful content to any religion, political party, person, cast and race is not allowed.
- Duration is 15 to 25 minutes, without downing of curtains.
- Dance is not allowed.
- Additional marks will be given for costumes/props. Costumes should be modest and appropriate.
- Make up, beard, moustaches, wigs, etc. are permitted.
- Male students are not allowed to dress up as female characters.
- Table/Chairs/Sofas will be provided on the set. Request for any additional requirement can be sent Ten days before the event.
- A Copy of written script with the drama title is required one week before the event. Only self-created scripts are allowed to play.
- The Script can be based on the themes like patriotism, social/cultural issues, mysticism, comedy etc.

The next competitions are linked with sports. Get yourselves ready to play the game that brings the athlete inside you! PGC Takra holds triplets of super exciting, thrilling, and mind-engaging games this year. The students will take part in them as per the rules outlined to qualify for the finale to be held in Lahore.
The best male and female teams qualifying at the cluster level
as per the rules will be chosen.
Note:
Badminton Competition Event will be held as per
the standard rules of the sport. You can ensure
you know the regulations of the court.

It is to be noted
- The event of Table Tennis competition in PGC Takra
will be held as per the standard rules of the sport.
Two (2) students will be chosen as per the rules to
play Chess on chess board.

- All the categories mentioned above competitions will be contested among cluster teams
- Only participants will be entertained in Lahore for the hotel stay and meal; extra students, friends, parents/relatives of participants will not be facilitated.
- Two members of staff from each cluster can accompany their respective Teams of students.
- Every cluster will arrange transportation and refreshments during the travel of its Team from their respective city to Lahore according to the schedule.
- All participants of the categories English, Urdu, Singing, Chess and ludo will wear the proper uniform during their performance. However, in the remaining categories, students can dress up as per their needs.
- Parent/s consent form is mandatory for every participant. Participants will stay in Lahore for two nights (The schedule will be informed later).
- Participants will not be allowed to visit anywhere else during their stay at Lahore and are not allowed to meet or invite their relatives to the venue.
- The TAKARA TROPHY will be won by the team which scores highest in the final round. In case of tie any of the competition/s will be re-contested as per judges’ decision.
