PCW in Brief
It goes without saying that by educating women, we educate a nation. It is an established fact that educated mothers are better equipped to successfully raise the next generation.
Punjab Group has been providing quality education to both boys and girls at all campuses since its inception at Intermediate, Graduation and Higher levels. There were separate classes for girls at the same campuses. However, to meet the demands of today’s young women and to give them a sense of security, the management of Punjab Group decided to establish a chain of the Punjab Colleges for Women in all the cities where Punjab Colleges are operating.
PCW has the complete infrastructure to meet the growing demands in the fields of medicine and engineering.
The high level of teaching at PCW can be gauged by the fact that every year our students attain top positions throughout the Province. The long chain of position holders in Board Exams has never been broken.
This year, our students outshone themselves in B.Com, B.Sc. and LL.B Examinations at Graduation Level. Kiran Abdul Rasheed, Amna Riaz and Afia Rafique were declared 1st in B.Com, B.Sc. and LL.B in Punjab University Examinations 2009 respectively. Similarly at Intermediate Level, our female students showed excellent results. Sixteen students stood First in their respective Boards in Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, General Science, Humanities and Commerce Groups.
Overall, in eight Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education, our female students secured 49 top positions. The outstanding achievements of our students in academics and sports got us "Best College" awards for Punjab College for Women Faisalabad and Gujranwala.
Our students have proved their worth both in academics as well as in co-curricalar activities. This year our Girls team of Sargodha and Gujranwala were declared Sports General Trophy winners for the year 2009-10. These young women participate in all kinds of extra-curricular activities such as quiz programmes, debates, mushairas, mehfil-e-milad, cultural melas and sports, with energy and enthusiasms. They compete in badminton, cricket, cycling, shot put, athletics and tug of war. Participation in sports develops team spirit, self discipline, and a healthy mind and body.
