The origin of Punjab Colleges Rawalpindi can be traced back to 1988 with its highly distinctive academic innovations and glorious educational achievements. This distinguished educational avenue had rapidly gained formidable eminence for its comprehensive and integrated approach to continually imparting professional education.

The facilities in all the campuses are unique. All classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with multimedia systems. Great importance is attached to academic discipline, intellectual growth and personality development. Students enjoy the facilities of the most modern and the most well-equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer labs for their practical training.

The result of BISE Rawalpindi 2012 shows the excellent performance of Punjab College Rawalpindi. In the year 2012 Punjab Colleges Rawalpindi got eighteen positions in Board Examinations. Our illustrious student Usman Tariq gave tremendous performance and grabbed 1st position and Muhammad Abdullah stood 3d on the victory stand. In General Science Group, Talha Kothari got second position. In Commerce Group, our college grabbed all the three positions. Jawad Aswad got 1st position, Mazhar Mehmood and Mushahid Abbas Malik got 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

Like boys colleges, Punjab College for Women performed exceptionally well. Our female students excelled in all disciplines i.e. Medical, Engineering, Computer Science. In BISE Rawalpindi Results of 2012, our students got 12 positions which is unparalleled in the history of Rawalpindi Board. By the grace of Allah Almighty, our results in the last three years speak volumes on our achievements. In Intermediate Results of 2010, 2011 & 2012, our students got 12, 08 and 12 positions respectively in BISE Rawalpindi.

BISE Rawalpindi did not organize Annual Sports for the year 2012-13 but four teams of Punjab Colleges participated in CM Cup in Lahore. Female students took part in different events like Badminton, Table Tennis, Basketball, Athletes, Football, Swimming, Net Ball, Cycling, and Gymnastics and won many titles. We also have pride of having an International player of Football, Sahar Zaman, Nain Tara, national player of Table Tennis, and Mehrosh Agha, national swimmer with us.

The College Annual Sports Festival and Cultural Mela were celebrated with great passion and fervor this year. The sports festivities of the year 2012 gained great attention of students and like academic achievements, the students came off with flying colors in various sports and cultural competitions and a hundred trophies and prizes were given to the winners and runners up.

Co-curricular activities are part and parcel in the growth of the students. In the current session, a number of activities were arranged like Welcome and Farewell Parties, Quiz Competitions, Annual Cultural & Sports Days, Musical Concerts, Colour Days, Recreational Trips, Study Tours, Milad, Girls Gala and Cooking Competition. These activities lessen the burden of strenuous routine.

The college holds different types of literary activities during the session such as Annual English Debate Competition is an event that is keenly waited for. It provides students an opportunity to analyze themselves, their society and priorities under the influence of the topic.

Punjab College Cultural Society (PCCS) has been established in this session 2013-13. The society aims at exploring the hidden talent and potential of many volunteer students in various campuses. The group members of the society are committed to continually encourage cultural activities.

With the proven track of Punjab Colleges in producing thousands of professionals in Commerce, Business and IT, a landmark initiative has been taken by the Punjab Group in launching M.Com and Associate Degree Programs in the semester fall 2012, affiliated with the University of Central Punjab, Lahore. During the first Semester of M.Com & ADP, two seminars were organized for orientation of students. Keeping in view the importance of the practical and professional knowledge of commerce, Guest speakers from financial sector and higher education were invited to guide the students and equip them with professional approach that may involve them in exploration and innovation in the long term.
