District Layyah is located in the southern part of the province. It was one of the tehsils of district Muzaffargarh and was upgraded to District Headquarter in 1982 comprising three tehsils Layyah, KarorLalEssan and Chaubara. Layyah & Karor Lal Essan are agriculturally developed as compared to Chaubara. Main Crops of Layyah are Sugarcane, Wheat, Cotton, Grams and the fruitsbeing Mango, Watermelon, Melon, Citrus and Dates. Major Industries of Layyah district are Cotton Ginning & Pressing, Flour, Oil and Sugar Mills.

There was no such institution in this area which could provide quality education in commerce & Science to the students of the Layyah city as well as living in surrounding areas. Therefore, the management of Punjab Group of Colleges decided to establish a college in Layyah. The college is situated in Shadman Colony. It comprises air conditioned class rooms and appropriately equipped science & computer laboratories. Content-based animations in the subject of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics are also provided for concept based learning.  The faculty team is well qualified and experienced. The College is affiliated with the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dera Ghazi Khan.
