Toba Tek Singh is named after the name of a Sikh religious figure Tek Singh and is located in central Punjab with an area of about 3250 square kilometers.
There are many areas of low lands that frequently flood during rainy season. According to the latest census report, population of Toba Tek Singh is approximately 1.39 million. It is basically an agricultural district and well known agricultural products of the area are wheat, maize, cotton, sugarcane, pulses and tobacco etc. District Toba Tek Singh is one of the producers of citrus fruit.
