Sahiwal is one of the prominent cities of Southern Punjab, at a distance of about 180 kilometers from Lahore. It is the biggest city between Lahore and Multan. The soil of this area is very fertile. The principal crops of the area are sugarcane, wheat, cotton, corn, legumes and oil seeds. Sahiwal is twinned with the town of Rochdale in the Greater Manchester, north of England.
Sahiwal is a thickly populated city and there were growing demands of the hardworking students and their motivated parents for the establishment of an institution to impart quality education in science and commerce. Consequently, the management of Punjab Colleges established a new institution at Pakpattan Road, Sahiwal. The College is affiliated with the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Multan. Since the start of classes, the Punjab College Sahiwal has conducted all classes regularly. The syllabus of every subject is broken down on weekly and monthly basis for the completion of course. Students are provided with Audio Visual Aids to facilitate them in their science subjects. Latest and well-equipped air-conditioned computer lab, science labs and classrooms make the learning process much easier. The students are evaluated on weekly and monthly basis. On the completion of syllabi, a series of tests along with prep classes are conducted. Special coaching classes for weak students are also organized for their improvement. At the end of the session, comprehensive exams are also held. The result of every test is dispatched at home addresses of students in a printed form to intimate parents about their progress. The failing students are given call up letters and made them bound to come to college with their parents for parent – teachers meeting after every month and phase test. The management meets parents and assures them of every assistance and guidance to alleviate poor performance of weak students.

Conceptual based education is very inevitable to meet all the challenges of new millennium. Keeping in view its significance, the college conducts a number of co-curricular activities from time to time e.g. Quiz Competition, Couplet recitation, Debates, Essay writing and other literary activities. All this helps a lot in grooming students’ personalities along with broadening their vision. Such programmes help students for performing well in their public examinations.

No one can overlook the importance of extra curricular activities. Physical fitness and a sound mind pave the way for every success along with regular course. Knowing its utmost utility, the college arranges every positive activity for students. During the previous academic session, students enjoyed themselves in Welcome Party, Three days’ Trip for Murree, Bhangra Night, Cultural Mela, Sports Gala and Bonfire, etc. All the above said recreational activities are helpful for the students to gain their confidence and personalities.
